HARTSDALE, N.Y. — Hartsdale bikers looking for all the bells and whistles can turn to Sierra Cycles at its new Central Park Avenue location.

Francisco Sierra, owner of Sierra Cycles shop, relocated his 26-year-old family business from Garth Road in Scarsdale to Central Park Avenue as an opportunity for bigger space and more traffic — right by the four corners intersection in Hartsdale.

Sierra said he's received a warm welcome since he re-opened the business in December at its new location.

"I'm getting people from Scarsdale, White Plains, all over, who didn't know about us because we were so tucked in on Garth Road," he said about his former Scarsdale location. "I'm really happy to be able to do what I do on a larger scale."

The bicycle business runs in the 37-year-old's blood — he learned the business from his father, who also owns a Sierra bicycle shop in Chappaqua. What's unique about Sierra Cycles is that it not only offers mainstream brands, but also has bike accessories for smaller manufacturers and "niche" brands, Sierra said.

"We meet all sides of the spectrum," he said.

While the spring and summer months are Sierra's busier seasons, he said he draws a lot of the hardcore bikers this time of year because new bicycle products become available in the winter. The bike shop offers mountain and road models, including Yeti, Koma, Titus, Santa Cruz, Chumba and Giro.

There's also plenty of bike wear including helmets, shorts and shirts, as well as repair and accessory installation services offered.
