Company That Runs Friendly's Restaurants Files For Bankruptcy

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Friendly's Ice Cream lovers are apparently down to their last licks after the company that runs the regional franchises filed for bankruptcy, according to a story on LoHud.com.

Friendly's shut restaurants in Yonkers, Yorktown and Mount Kisco in September, along with some in Rockland County. The Friendly's location in Carmel was the only remaining one in the region.

J&B Restaurant Partners, based in Long Island, said the remaining 37 restaurants in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey would be re-evaluated. The company plans to renovate and re-open 11 locations, the story said.
