GREENBURGH, N.Y. — Construction is finally being done on the Greenburgh gas station at the corner of Knollwood Road and Tarrytown Road, which has been boarded up for more than a year.

The previous gas station, FB Fuel, used the building primarily for gas and a mechanic shop, the new Mobil gas station will offer a convenience store, said Christopher Munoz, president of the Bridgepoint Group, the construction company working on the building.

The project is expected to be completed by spring, Munoz added.

The busy intersection that joins Knollwood Road, also Route 100A, with Tarrytown Road (Route 119) and I-287, has always been home to gas stations. The building served as an Amoco station up till 2004, and was an Exxon previous to that since 1979.
