New York Times Reviews Hartsdale Korean Restaurant

HARTSDALE, N.Y. --  So Gong Dong Tofu received a "good" review from the The New York Times after the publication visited the Korean restaurant.

So Gong Dong Tofu opened three months ago and is attracting customers -- many of them Korean-American -- with its spicy cuisine, according to the article.

The location at 411 N Central Ave. is one in a small chain, including restaurants in Palisades Park, N.J., and St. Mark's Place in Manhattan.

Despite its name, So Gong Dong Tofu serves more than just tofu dishes. The Times reviewed its soondubu jjigae, a soupy soft tofu stew; bibimbap, sautéed vegetables and meat over rice; and barbecue, "which is grilled in the kitchen, not at the table," according to the article.

The review also gave positive marks to the restaurant's seafood pancake and pan-fried dumplings. It also remarked on the restaurant's "multigenerational" crowd and "gracious, helpful and quick" service.
