The new Paws Crossed Animal Rescue is already working with local animals, but plans to celebrate its official grand opening on Saturday, Sept. 17, according to the statement.

Paws Crossed CEO Jennifer Angelucci said her organization’s board, staff and volunteers worked tirelessly to “secure an agreement” to re-open the shelter at 100 Warehouse Lane South, Elmsford, since it was forced to close last year.

According to the statement, the new facility will “provide a greatly improved environment for homeless pets to recover and thrive and a place for those pets to meet and win the hearts of their new pet parents.”

To support the Paws Crossed efforts, the Hudson Veterinary Hospital, or HVH, will be offering a free, one-year wellness plan for each animal that is adopted, according to the statement.

Each plan is designed specifically to complement the treatments given by Paws Crossed prior to adoption to ensure the animal is fully protected in its new home. The wellness plans provide an unlimited number of free physical examinations during the year-long period, according to the statement.

“The HVH - Paws Crossed Wellness Plans are designed to include everything an adopted pet needs to start a new, healthy and happy life,” said Dr. Susan Christopher of the HVH.

The Paws Crossed grand opening is scheduled for noon-3 p.m. at its Elmsford facility, according to the statement.

The event is to feature pet games and activities, raffles, pet portraits, a canine fashion show, food, vendors and a live radio broadcast from 107.1 The Peak, which will be giving away prizes.

The grand opening also will offer the public a chance to adopt Pets Crossed animals.
