Thieves Stole Personal Data From 104,000 Taxpayers, IRS Says

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- IRS officials said a group of thieves stole the personal information from 104,000 people, according to bloomberg.com.

The hackers were able to gain information on the victims by using the "get transcript" function on the IRS website. The site feature has been taken down until security measures are reinforced, bloomberg.com reported.
