iLLy Face is a new online marketplace for custom illustrated party shirts. The company, founded by New Rochelle Artist Sean Flanagan, focuses on the increasing popularity of personalization in artistic expression as the world continues to idolize the selfie.

The idea came to him a year ago, where through his freelance illustration work, he began to notice a trend toward celebrating individuals with caricatures for special events.

“It’s the age of taking selfies and creating bitmojis with every product having a ‘make it your own,’ angle,” said Flanagan.

“Personalization is so sought-after in today’s world that it just felt right to make an online platform where people could easily upload a photo and wait for two days while I illustrate their face to be printed on the shirt.”

Since launching the platform a month ago, Flanagan has already received a host of positive feedback. One mother has already ordered a set of shirts for her daughter’s bat mitzvah while another proclaimed that “if her son makes it to graduation day, the entire family will be in the bleachers wearing his face on a graduation t-shirt.”

“The idea is simple: make the person you are celebrating feel like the center of attention for the night,” said Flanagan. “We want everyone to have fun, make memories, and capture the event with a t-shirt that they can wear for years to come.”

Shirts are $15 plus a one-time $40 illustration charge that applies to all orders. Bulk order pricing is now being accepted.
