Westchester Native Mark Zuckerberg's Startup Aimed At African Education

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, a White Plains native who grew up in Dobbs Ferry and attended Ardsley High School, has invested in a mission to bring education to some of Africa’s poorest children, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Zuckerberg invested $10 million in the effort to bring inexpensive education to about 126,000 students living in areas such as rural Kenya, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Zuckerberg is joined by other major investors including Bill Gates of Microsoft, The Wall Street Journal reported.
