DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- The Village of Dobbs Ferry will be holding its annual tree lighting event on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 5 p.m., at Cedar and Main streets.

The Dobbs Ferry High School Chorus Octet will perform Christmas carols during the lighting ceremony.

This year's tree was provided by The Dobbs Ferry Tree Shop on Ashford Avenue.

Following the tree lighting, residents will walk down to the firehouse on Main Street for refreshments, music and pictures with Santa.

New York Sports Club will be on hand with free popcorn and will raffle off a 30 day membership. Everyone who attends will receive a free one week guest pass and a free swim assessment coupon for every family with a child.

Don't forget, Santa will be in Dobbs Ferry on Saturday, December 7 from around 3:30 on and the tree lighting will take place at 5:00 at the corner of Cedar and Main. After that, everyone is welcome at the Firehouse for cookies and hot chocolate. Stores and restaurants are all planning specialties for the day, so come to Dobbs and shop!

I just hope they call it a Christmas Tree and not a holiday tree.
