Greenburgh To Host Fitness Classes For Seniors

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Seniors are invited to participate in Greenburgh Parks and Recreation fitness classes through June. 

Qi gong, outdoor tennis and Zumba Gold for adults will be held through May and June. A rundown and schedule of events is below. 

Qi gong: Qi gong can be described as energy (chee) and gentle body movement (gong) for healing the body, mind and emotions. The health benefits of qi gong include improved energy and agility, stress reduction, increased  concentration, reduced neck and body pain along a rejuvenated mind, body and spirit.

Day: Thursdays: Eight weeks. 

Dates: Thursday, April 24,  through Thursday, June 12. 

Time: 8:30-9:30 a.m. Fee: $30 for seniors, $40 for adults, $48 for nonresidents. 

Instructor: Jian Yan Rong Outdoor tennis clinic: For seniors with some playing experience. Emphasis on improving basic skills and playing doubles. Equipment provided.

Day: Tuesdays for six weeks. 

Dates: Tuesday, April 22, to Tuesday, May 27. 

Time:  10:30-11:30 a.m. Place: Anthony F. Veteran Park Tennis Courts Instructor: Janet Lefkowitz.  

Fee: $20 for residents; $25 for nonresidents.

Zumba Gold For Adults: Seniors are invited to participate in Zumba Gold.

Monday nights: Eight sessions. 

Dates: Monday, April 28, to Monday, June 23 (no class Monday, May 26). 

Time: 5:30-6:15 p.m. 

Fee: $60 for Greenburgh residents. $75 for nonresidents. 

Location: Multipurpose Center. 11 Olympic Lane, Ardsley.
