GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- The Greenburgh Parks and Recreation Department will be offering an art lecture Series, "Behind the Auction House & Spotlight on Contemporary Art Happenings" for senior citizens on Thursdays in February from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m at Anthony F. Veteran Park.

The series will cost $25.00 and will be held on Feb. 6, 13, 20, and 27 by instructor Cherise Gordon.

Record-breaking sales, how and why artwork is priced as it is and the impetus that drive the price of artwork of two auction houses, Christies and Sothebys, will be discussed. Contemporary art events in N.Y. will also be a topic of conversation.

Former auction house employees and art historians will be on staff to answer questions and queries.

Advanced registration is required at the Multipurpose Center.
