Greenburgh Registers For Senior Citizens Classes

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Registration for Greenburgh Parks and Recreation senior citizen classes begins this week for the January-June session at the Multipurpose Center at Anthony F. Veteran Park.

A variety of exercise classes are offered, along with   bridge, mahjong, creative arts, photography and knitting. Resident fees for these classes are $35 for the six-month session. There is also a canasta group on Tuesdays from 10 a.m.-noon. 

In addition to the six-month classes, there are several eight- to 10-week classes that are listed below.

  • Qi gong on Thursdays for eight weeks April 24-June 12 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Fee: $30 for seniors, $40 for adults and $48 for nonresidents. 
  • Evening Zumba Gold for adult on Mondays for eight weeks, Jan. 26-March 23 from 5:30-6:15 p.m. Fee: $60 for Greenburgh residents. $75 for nonresidents.
  • Zumba Gold 1 on Tuesdays for 10 sessions, Jan. 20-March 24 from noon-12:45 p.m. Fee: $40 for residents, $60 for nonresidents.
  • Zumba Gold 2 on Fridays for 10 sessions, Jan. 23-March 27. Fee: $40 for residents, $60  for nonresidents.

An updated town Unicard is required to register for these classes. Participants must register in person.
