GREENBURGH, N.Y. - Westchester for Change will host a free and open community forum on campaign finance reform in New York State at Greenburgh Town Hall on April 11 at 7 p.m.
Westchester For Change is an all-volunteer, grassroots organization that has been actively working on progressive issues in the county since 2010.
Co-Organizer Elizabeth Saenger will moderate a panel that will include state Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins; Assemblywoman Sandy Galef; Jessica Wisneski, campaigns director of Citizen Action of New York; and Ian Vandewalker, counsel, Democracy Project at the Brennan Center, New York University.
There will be a question-and-answer period after the presentations.
"Whatever cause or reform you care about, campaign finance reform is the key to moving it forward," Saenger said. "Money’s influence on the political process is undeniable and often pernicious. This educational forum will address initiatives at the state level that seek to level the playing field and to encourage and support the possibility of new candidates entering the arena."
Greenburgh Town Hall is located at 117 Hillside Ave.
