Ridgefield Officer Returns From Active Duty In Kabul

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Police Department is welcoming home one of its own, Officer Matthew Seibert, who recently returned from active duty in Kabul, Afghanistan as part of Operation Freedom Sentinel.

Seibert is a first lieutenant in the Connecticut Army National Guard assigned as a military police officer to the 143rd RSG out of Middletown. 

While stationed in Kabul, Seibert worked in the Base Defense Operations Center in support of the Train, Advise, Assist Command-Capital Region Mission. During his deployment, he worked with soldiers from 37 different NATO coalition partners. 

He has been with the Ridgefield Police Department since 2013.
