An administrator at the Westchester Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Mount Vernon confirmed the case over the weekend, and said that they will be quarantining the north side of the building as a safety precaution.

Identifying information regarding the resident's positive test has not been released, though she has been quarantined at an area hospital after the positive test was confirmed. The results of the test reportedly took a week to be returned, and a second COVID-19 test of a resident came back negative.

According to the World Health Organization's situation report, as of Sunday, March 15, there were 153,517 confirmed cases of coronavirus globally, which resulted in 5,753 deaths. In the United States, there have been 1,678 confirmed COVID-19 cases, which resulted in 41 deaths.

The WHO "risk assessment" remains "very high" regionally and globally. There is expected to be a spike in positive cases in the United States as soon as this week as testing ramps up nationwide.
