Woman Killed After Being Struck By Jeep On Nassau County Roadway

An investigation is underway after a woman was hit and killed by a man driving a Jeep Cherokee while walking along a roadway.

The incident took place in Nassau County around 8 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 8, in Roslyn Heights as the 56-year-old woman walked along Roslyn Road at Willets Road.

According to Nassau County Police, the woman was struck by a southbound 2018 Jeep Cherokee that was being driven by a 30-year-old man.

The driver remained on the scene and waited for police to respond, police said.

As a result of the collision, the woman, whose identity has not yet been released, suffered multiple trauma injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into this accident continues.
