'Much Ado About Nothing' To Be Performed In White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Wednesday's 7 p.m. performance of William Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" has been moved indoors to the White Plains Performing Arts Center in the City Center due to the rain forecast.

The 90-minute production is free and open to the public. 

Thursday's show is still set to be performed at Turnure Park at 7 p.m.

The Performing Arts Center, a comfortable modern theater space at 11 City Place is on the same floor as the movie theater. Parking is available in the City Center Garage or Hamilton-Main Garage.

Turnure Park is located on Canfield Avenue between Lake Street and Main Street. Parking is best in the Eastview School lot. 

In the comedy, Benedick and Beatrice love each other but won't admit it, and an evil plot threatens to keep Claudio and Hero apart.

For this production, audience members can play a role by serving as guests at Leonata's party and as members of "The Watch."

"Much Ado About Nothing" is presented by the City of White Plains, ArtsWestchester and White Plains Performing Arts Center.

The cast features Emily Banks (Ursula), Martha Benson (Beatrice), Andrew Betz (Claudio), Brianna Bowman (Hero), Darius James Copland (Verges), Philip J. Cutrone (Friar), Nathaniel Janis (Benedick), John Anthony Lopez (Dogberry), Mike Newman (Don Pedro), Will Pryor-Bennett (Borachio), Jeremy Quinn (Sexton), Sara Snadowsky (Margaret), Andre Sguerra (Don John) and Phoebe Wright (Leonata).

The production is directed by Karen Loftus, with costume design by Heather Craig and sound design by Scott Tunkel.
