New Spring Activities And Events In Greenburgh

GREENBURGH, N.Y. - March may come in like a lion, but Greenburgh residents can get into the warm-weather mood by checking out a list of events and activities in the town's spring and summer calendar.

The Greenburgh Nature Center, the Theodore D. Young Community Center and the Parks and Recreation Department have plenty of spring activities for Greenburgh residents.

Here are some upcoming events to look forward to in Greenburgh. For a complete list of activities and events, see the official activity guide.

The Kids' Short Story Connection: Series begins March 9. Sign your kids up for this six-session series of writing workshops. Children will work in a roundtable setting to develop their creativity and write short stories. Participants should be between 9 and 17 years old and must love to write. College Tours: Begins March 24. The Fifth Annual Historical Black College and University Tour will continue its program that offers tours to high school students in colleges like Shaw University, North Carolina Central University and Johnson C. Women's Fitness Program: Begins March 11. This adult fitness program practices cardiovascular and body-sculpting exercises to increase strength and endurance. All fitness levels are welcome. Theodore D. Young Community Center. Call 914-989-3617 for more information.

Spring Celebration and Egg Hunt: March 30. A day of family fun celebrates the beginning of spring. Visit the Greenburgh Nature Center's barnyard to meet furry and feathered animals, or follow the herd on an animal parade. Spring Vacation Nature Camp: March 25 - 28. Take your kids to the Greenburgh Nature Center during their spring break for a four-day, activity-packed camp. Beginner's And Intermediate Tennis For Adults: April 2 - May 2. The beginner's class will instruct participants on basic stroking techniques for forehand, backhand, service, volley and overhead. Little to no experience required. For more advanced players, sign up for intermediate classes to improve your skills and play competitively with others.
