Tickets to this public event are $18 in advance or $25 at the door. A $180 sponsor ticket includes VIP seating and a special dinner reception with Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky at 7 p.m.

As a scholar and leader in the Jewish community, the Rebbe is known for his teachings about the goodness of mankind and the potential of individuals and good deeds, according to a press release. He is the only rabbi to receive the Congressional Gold Medal and have a day proclaimed in his honor. The Education and Sharing Day on April 18 coincides with the Rebbe’s birthday.

The Rebbe has also counseled many prominent individuals, including Ronald Reagan, Robert F. Kennedy, Yitzchak Rabin, Menachem Begin, Elie Wiesel and Bob Dylan.

Led by Rabbi Krinsky, who served as the Rebbe’s personal secretary for more than 40 years, the event will reflect on the Rebbe’s life and teachings.

Krinsky has been ranked as the No. 1 Most Influential Rabbi in America for two years in a row by Newsweek magazine.

New information about the Rebbe’s early life and his global impact has been emerging via an oral history. Two biographical works on his life also have recently been published. Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz, praised by Time Magazine as a “once-in-a-millennium scholar,” has released “My Rebbe.” Joseph Telushkin released “Rebbe: The Life and Teachings of Menachem M. Schneerson, the Most Influential Rabbi in Modern History.”

The Doubletree Tarrytown Hotel is at 455 S. Broadway, Tarrytown.
