HARTSDALE, N.Y. – Last Sunday, the Maccabeats performed to a sold-out audience of more than 600 people at Schechter Westchester’s Upper School campus in Hartsdale.

“The Maccabeats’ concert promises to be exhilarating for everyone – from the youngest children to their grandparents – it’s more than just the music, it’s the message that being Jewish is exciting, and that the arts have an important place in Jewish education,” said Michael Kay, Schechter Westchester’s head of school, in a press release.

The Maccabeats, originally formed in 2007 as Yeshiva University’s student vocal group, has a huge fan base including more than 20 million YouTube views.

The group has also released three successful albums of Jewish, American, and Israeli songs, and made numerous television appearances.
