Senator Gillibrand, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, has advocated strengthening America’s armed services, national security and military readiness.
The Senator will speak at the park, which next year will be enhanced and turned into a Veterans Memorial park, honoring the contributions of our local heroes. The Town Board authorized the release of non-taxpayer dollars to create this memorial park earlier this year. Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2016.
The town will also continue its tradition of airing the living history interviews of approximately 150 veterans. These interviews of the veterans, each about thirty minutes long, will air on public access TV from Tuesday night beginning at 9:30 p.m. and run to Thursday morning. The series will continue on Friday night, ending on the morning of Monday, Nov. 16t on Cablevision channel 76 and Verizon Fios channel 35.
