The "Celebrate Greenburgh" event will be held at Anthony F. Veteran Park and will include a tennis carnival, seniors bridge tournament, dunk tank, clowns and face painting among other features with the fireworks show at 9 p.m.
As an added feature, the Veteran Corps of Artillery of New York State will set up a camp in Colonial period uniforms from 2 to 3:30 p.m. to highlight the era in which the town was founded.
The VCASNY is the oldest military organization in New York State and was formed in Manhattan on Evacuation Day for New York on Nov. 25, 1790, by Veterans of Washington’s Continental Army Corps of Artillery.
The fireworks display will take place at Anthony F. Veteran Park and can be viewed in the park or across the street at McDowell Park in Ardsley.
Live music and activities will take place in both parks beginning at 6:30 pm leading up to the fireworks.
Parking will be available and overflow parking will be at Ardsley High School off Heatherdell Road on Farm Road, Ardsley. Free bus shuttle service will begin at 5:30 p.m. and continue for 30 minutes or longer after the fireworks.
Pool admission is $5. In addition to general swimming all day, there are other events planned for throughout the day.
