GREENBURH, N.Y. From a Fathers Day celebrations to butterfly exhibits, here is whats happening in Greenburgh this weekend.
Friday, June 15
R.J. Bailer Track Opening and Dedication: 8:30 a.m. The Richard J. Bailey Elementary School will dedicate its new track with a special Relay for Life event to raise awareness of the American Cancer Societys fight against cancer. The track will be dedicated to the schools Class of 2012. The Relay for Life will begin after the dedication and will feature health and wellness booths with fitness activities. R.J. Bailey Elementary School is at 33 West Hillside Ave., White Plains.
John Shearer Photography Exhibit Opening: 11:30 a.m. Renowned Life and Look magazine photographer John Shearer, a Woodlands High School graduate, will open an exhibition of his photography documenting some of the Greenburgh Central 7s rich history in the high schools Frelow Center. Woodlands High School is at 475 W. Hartsdale Ave., Hartsdale.
Donuts For Dad: 8 a.m. Elmsford elementary students can grab a donut with dad just in time for Fathers Day. The Carl L. Dixson Primary School is at 22 S. Hillside Ave., Elmsford.
Saturday, June 16
Hartsdale Farmers' Market: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Hartsdale Farmers' Market is open and will have free outdoor concerts. Remedy a Contemporary band will play from 10-11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The market is on East Hartsdale Avenue in DeSanti Plaza.
Muddy Sneakers - Leave no Stone Unturned: 10 a.m. Join Director of Education & Living Collections Travis Brady as he leads an excursion through the Nature Centers woods and fields to explore ways to play in and with nature. Lets re-pioneer the world of outdoor play. Admission is $5 for members, $8 for non-members $8 and $25, respectively, for the family. The Greenburgh Nature Center is at 99 Dromore Road, Scarsdale.
Walk Among Live Butterflies: 10 a.m. New this year, the exhibit will be in a hoop house structure, adjacent to the greenhouse so visitors and butterflies can feel as if they are outdoors. When you enter the exhibit, in addition to colorful and fragrant flowering plants, youll be greeted by native butterflies. Flying freely among the greenery, youll be sure to see Monarchs, Painted Ladies, Swallowtails and other native New York butterflies fluttering from blossom to blossom in search of nourishing nectar. You also may catch sight of them resting in a shady spot to cool off or see them sipping water from a puddle. While enjoying the beauty of these delicate creatures, youll have an opportunity to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly and about the unique relationship between specific plants and butterflies. The exhibit will continue through Sept. 2. The Greenburgh Nature Center is at 99 Dromore Road, Scarsdale.
Performance of Pressure Makes Diamonds: 2 p.m. M&M Productions Acting Company will present "Pressure Makes Diamonds," at the Irvington Public Library. 'Pressure Makes Diamonds" is a play written and performed by Anthony Valbiro about those stresses in life that hone you into a better person if they don't kill you first. The Irvington Public Library is at 12 S. Astor St., Irvington.

Father's Day Family Outing Concert: 12 p.m. Come take part in this Fathers Day Family Outing Concert and treat Dad to a free concert featuring a tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire. The annual Fathers Day Concert will be a great family night full of soul. Do the right thing for Dad and come enjoy the music. The performance is free of charge and open to all. The Renaissance Plaza is located on Main Street and Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains.
