Fashion's Night Out (FNO) is almost here. This Thursday, Sept 8, stylemakers across the globe and in Westchester and Fairfield Counties will head out for a very "in" evening. Whether you’re looking for deals, samples or ‘swag, you’ll find much to satisfy your style appetite.
FNO is a global initiative that began in 2009 to celebrate fashion and serve as a boost to struggling economies. In the United States, the event is a collaboration between Vogue Magazine, NYC & Company, and the City of New York, and cities around the world will support FNO with sales, fashion shows and other industry-related events.
In Greenwich, Greenwich Avenue will be transformed into a working runway, courtesy of Saks Fifth Avenue. Models from over 30 stores will strut in style On the Avenue between Lewis and Elm Streets, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Fabulous, free open houses will tempt up and down the blocks, offering live entertainment, presentations, trunk shows, makeover, cocktails, tastings and plenty more.
Stamford is another fashion hub where retailers will offer chic deals to shoppers. Agabhumi the Best of Bali, an eclectic boutique featuring rich styles from Southeast Asia, is hosting an evening of Bali-inspired beauty. Celebrity make-up artist Jennifer Snowden will be in-house offering makeovers and beauty tips. And Elan Salon’s Bunny Sempe will craft feather extensions for the adventurous set. Zen Bronze will also be on hand to help you keep your summer glow alive with their organic tanning methods. And there will be plenty of tempting treats and cocktails to ease you into your evening.
If you’re in Westchester County, the The Westchester in White Plains is the only place to be. The FNO Lounge will be located on Retail Level One, nearby David Yurman’s enviably luxe storefront. Register on arrival for ‘swag, sales and other goodies. Enjoy express facials by L’Occitane that get you in the mood to shop your favorite designers like: Cole Haan, Lilly Pulitzer, Michael Kors, Soma, Stuart Weitzman and more.
