Leo Cattarini, owner of Rini's Restaurant and Wine Bar, 12 W. Main St. in Elmsford, recommends trying his personal favorite — eggplant rollatini.
"That's one of our signature dishes," Cattarini said about the eggplant dish, which comes stuffed with ricotta cheese and topped off with mozzarella.
Rini's is offering a three-course lunch menu for $20.95 and a three-course dinner menu for $29.95. Each menu offers a variety of Cattarini's favorite picks.
This year marks the first time the annual Restaurant Week is being held in the fall, which Cattarini thinks may be the reason why he hasn't seen the steady flow of customers he usually does during the promotion. That, and Hurricane Sandy, he said.
"There's better weather in the spring, and people are always accustomed to having it in March, Cattarini said.
But Hurricane Sandy actually helped business for Gerald Zonghetti, manager at Caffe Azzurri, 20 N. Central Ave in Hartsdale. Customers came to the restaurant when they lost power and couldn't cook dinner in their own homes, Zonghetti said.
Caffee Azzurri is offering its "prix fixe" menu during Restaurant Week. Customers can enjoy their choice of an appetizer, entree and dessert for $29.95 Sunday through Friday and $35.95 on Saturdays.
The fisherman's stew and the pork osso bucco are both popular choices, and the pork is Zonghetti's personal favorite on the menu, he said.
