Location department representatives moved through the village Wednesday informing local business owners and residents on Warburton Avenue and Main Street that the film crew would be in the community for two days next month.
The pilot is co-written by Damon Lindelof ("Lost," "Star Trek") and Tom Perrotta ("Election," "Little Children") and based on Perrotta's novel about the aftermath of a rapture-like event in a suburban town. Peter Berg ("Friday Night Lights") will direct.
According to a flyer distributed by the film company, several scenes are scheduled to be shot along Warburton Avenue and Main Street from 8 a.m. to midnight on both days.
A parade scene will be filmed along Main Street from Warburton Avenue to Spring Street on July 8.
The Hastings Laundromat, a local tavern and the Spring Street area will serve as venues for the shoot. Spring Street will be closed on July 9 for a stunt car accident.
The streets and municipal parking lots will be closed to vehicular traffic and parking, but sidewalks will be open to pedestrians. Most local businesses will remain open.
The film company will hold a casting call for extras and background actors at the James Harmon Community Center Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
