iPic, which has 16 locations throughout the country, including New York City and Fort Lee, aims to bring a sense of luxury to the typical trip to the multiplex.

The theater, located at 1 Livingstone Ave, offers premium plus reserved seating, which includes in-theater wait service, free popcorn, reclining seats and pillows and blankets to those who want to snuggle up during a show. Premium seating is also offered.

It officially opens Friday, May 5.

“People want to know that they are maximizing the experience they’re paying for,” said Founder and CEO Hamid Hashemi.

“At iPic Theaters, every visit is as memorable as the last."

Michelle Soudry, a representative for iPic, said some people snickered when Hashemi first came up with the idea.

"People thought you're seriously going to revive this industry," Soudry said. "This is the next level of moviegoing. It's like if Tesla and Porsche had a baby. After seeing a movie at iPic, you're never going to want to see a movie anywhere else."

Soudry said many customers don't even care what movie they're seeing, they just want to enjoy iPic's many amenities.

"We're all about elevating the moviegoing experience," Soudry said.

The food and drink menus were developed by Chef Sherry Yard and mixologist Adam Seger. Yard's "Dine in the Dark" menu involves food made from scratch that you can eat without cutlery and without making a mess.

"Nothing is too noisy or smelly," explained Yard, who previously worked with Wolfgang Puck. "I didn't want to do this until we could do it right. I have the best job."

iPic is also aiming to keep it local. Seger said the apples used for cocktails were bought at the Pleasantville Farmer's Market. And, they aim to accommodate those who would rather not imbibe.

"We can make you a nojito," Seger said. "We want every guest to indulge."
