The Iranian eatery has been around for awhile, but has recently been revived by new ownership and a bigger menu that is faithful to the comforting Persian-style dishes that kept its customers coming back, The New York Times review said.
The Times reviewer especially liked Shiraz’s tadig, a rice-based appetizer; stews such as one made with toasted walnuts, meatballs and pomegranate paste; and kebabs made with lamb, chicken or beef.
According to Shiraz's website, the restaurant hosts a number of cultural events organized around Persian holidays.
Shiraz, which the Times rated as “very good,” is at 83 East Main St.
It can be reached by calling (914)- 345-6111.
