Feiner accepted the challenge for the town and challenged the White Plains City Council to complete the challenge for the fundraiser, which has raised more than $40 million worldwide over the last month to fight amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
A number of local governments and staffs have taken the challenge, including Pelham, Yonkers and Greenburgh.
"Many of us are making personal donations, and we encourage others to do the same," Feiner said. "Former White Plains Councilman Bob Greer passed away a number of years ago from ALS. It's a horrible disease that could affect anyone, and we have to find a cure."
Feiner then joined the Greenburgh Ice Bucketeers, who moved from one to another in a chain reaction dumping buckets of water on each other.
