Ardsley's Murray to be Remembered Thursday

ARDSLEY, N.Y. - Ruth V. Murray, a former employee of the Ardsley School District, died Jan. 9. She was 84.

A resident of Ardsley since 1955, Murray worked as a teacher's aide at Concord Road School for many years. She enjoyed gardening and baking and was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Walter Bradshaw Murray, her children Kathy (Roy), Mickey (Howard), Packy (Janet), Mary (Wayne) and Michael (Lisa), her sister Virginia Callahan, 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Albert J. "A.J." in February of 2011. 

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry. The funeral mass will start at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Ardsley. Memorial contributions may be made to breast cancer research foundations.
