Looking for a way to stay cool this summer? Head to Greenburgh's town pool for a splash to tide you over.
The pool, located at Anthony F. Veteran Park on the border of Hartsdale and Ardsley, opened officially for the season on Memorial Day. Residents flocked to the water to escape from the sticky temperatures, which peaked at 88 degrees.
Due to low attendance over the holiday weekend in previous years, and because of town budget cuts, the pool was not opened during the entirety of Memorial Day Weekend. According to Town Supervisor Paul Feiner, the town chose Memorial Day as the pools opening day in an attempt to save money.
"We're trying hard to cut the services that will impact people the least," Feiner said. "We're asking all departments in the town government to make cuts."
As this week's forecast looks sunny and humid, likely reaching the high 80s on most days, Greenburgh residents are encouraged to utilize in the town's pool for a refreshing dip.
