EDGEMONT, N.Y. – The North Shore-LIJ Health System announced the appointment of Edgemont's Dr. Ira Nash as senior vice president and executive director of the North Shore-LIJ Medical Group.
Nash will work with the health system’s administrative and clinical leadership as he leads the Long Island-based Medical Group.
“I look forward to leading the Medical Group as the healthcare landscape continues to change, and keep us focused on providing accessible, attentive and high quality patient care,” Nash said.
There are more than 2,400 physicians in the North Shore-LIJ Medical Group, making it the sixth largest physician group practice in the country. Nash was previously the vice president and medical director of North Shore-LIJ’s Physician and Ambulatory Network Services (PAANS). Before joining the health system, Dr. Nash held several senior positions at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan, including chief medical officer and senior vice president of medical affairs.
Nash is board certified in cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association. Dr. Nash is a professor of cardiology and population health at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine.
