Elmsford Court Clerk Doug Friedle, 44, Passes Away

ELMSFORD, N.Y. – Elmsford's Court Clerk Douglas Friedle passed away on Friday, according to Elmsford Mayor Robert Williams.

Friedle passed away at approximately 1 p.m. at the Hudson Valley Hospital. He was 44-years-old.

"For the 16 years Doug has worked for the village, and the last 12 years as out court clerk, he was a valued employee," Williams said. "Doug did an excellent job and was very dedicated. He loved his job and enjoyed being a part of our village family. He will be dearly missed by all."

Friedle began his Elmsford career in December 1995 when he was hired as a deputy court clerk for data entry. Less than four years later, in October 1999, he was promoted to court clerk.

"On behalf of the board of trustees, administrator, village justice, department heads, village staff and myself, we would like to offer our condolences to Doug's family," Williams said.  "Please join us in keeping Doug and his family in your thoughts and prayers."

A wake will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Clinton Funeral Homes, Inc., located at 728 N. Division Street in Peekskill. The funeral mass will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Columbanus Church, located at 122 Oregon Road in Cortlandt Manor. A private cremation will follow at the Ferncliff Cemetery in Greenburgh.
