Elmsford Trustees Honor Residents, Police, Swear In Firefighters

ELMSFORD, N.Y. -- Several residents and police officers were honored for their service to the community and a swearing in ceremony for fire department officers and firefighters at the monthly Village of Elmsford Board of Trustees meeting Monday, May 5 at Village Hall.

Mayor Robert Williams officiated as the Board honored the husband and wife team of Elaine and Jim Jensen, longtime residents, for their years of work on village boards and other committees.

The Jensens have worked on many volunteers projects, the beautification and revitalization of the downtown and are founding members of the village's Citizens Emergency Response Team a year ago. 

Barry Elltrodt, a member of zoning, planning and other boards and committees over the years, was also honored.

The Mayor and the Board also recognized Assistant Fire Chief Stephen Woehrle, Elmsford Police Detective Gianpaolo Dilisio, and Police Officers Douglas Ramirez, Joseph Amendola, Richard Otero, Detective Robert Caralyus and Jonny Belardo for outstanding service.

Village Adminstrator Michael Mills then administered the oath to Fire Chief David Signor, 1st Assistant Chief Woehrle, 2nd Ass. Chief Nelson Diaz, Captain Eugene Malone, 1st Lieutenants Scott Jones and Jorge Portillo, 2nd Lieutenants Christopher Fanelli and Edward Miller, and EMS Lieutenants Alex Camacho and Syed Alirahi.
