Johnson, a visual arts major at SUNY Albany and a graduate of Westchester Community College in Valhalla, previously published “Sibling Secrets” and “Sibling Sacrifices,” a series which she published out of high school and her second year at WCC.

"I've always had an active imagination," Johnson said. "When I first learned to write, I realized that I could put my thoughts onto paper. I could materialize them. Not only was it a way of turning my imagination into a product to share, but it was an aid in remembering all my thoughts. Writing came second by means of making them in some ways, a reality."

Set in the modern day fictional town of Clemming, “Saphora vol.1 Retention” is the story of not-so-modern Saphora Kiran, an extraterrestrial victim of amnesia who is the only hope her inherited kingdom has of surviving a revenge-driven take over. When she’s faced with an assassin from the enemy lines, Saphora must stay alive long enough to get back home and fight on her own soil.

The only child of single mom Tanya Johnson, who works at the Peekskill Youth Bureau, the young author said her dream is to see her books become movies, and to be able to cast actors and actresses that have inspired her throughout her life. Actor Tom Hiddleston would be on the top of that list.

Johnson says she "was born in a land of make believe. Mothered by fantasy and fathered by science fiction."

Johnson has had book signings at Barnes & Noble, her high school, after-school programs, and local events.

"The response has been far better than I could have expected," Johnson said. "My fans and supports from my first two novels were waiting, very impatiently, ha ha, for my next book to be released. "I've received several compliments on the story, curious questions about what's to come in the trilogy, despite the fact that it was only released a few weeks ago."

The book is available on Amazon and Kindle.
