ELMSFORD, N.Y. - Ulderico DeNizo, of Elmsford, died Nov. 26 after a brief illness. He was 93.
Born on Oct. 8, 1918 in Colledimezzo, Italy to Teresa and Rocco DeNizo, he served in the Italian army during World War II. Professionally, DeNizo worked as a carpenter for most of his life and belonged to Local 149 union. DeNizo was a member of Colledimezzo Social Club in Elmsford and enjoyed playing cards and traveling.
He is survived by his daughters Rita DeNizo of Elmsford and Teresa (Giacinto) DiNardo of Elmsford, his sons Domenick (Nadine) DeNizo of Raleigh, N.C. and Rick (Christine) DeNizo of Cortlandt Manor, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. DeNizo was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Paolina DeLaurentis.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in Elmsford. A funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Elmsford. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum.
