The Hartsdale Kiwanis pledged to raise funds for this project. Maternal and neonatal tetanus is a deadly disease that affects newborn mothers and their infants. The Hartsdale Kiwanis committed to raise more than $17,000 and was given five years to meet this goal. The club met its goal in less than three years and has now attained Legacy Club status. Neo-natal tetanus is being eliminated with the help of Kiwanis programs worldwide.

During this past year, the Kiwanis Club of Hartsdale has sponsored programs at both senior centers in Greenburgh; given scholarships to students at Woodlands High School; sponsored the Key Club at Woodlands High School; donated Thanksgiving baskets to needy families in Greenburgh; sent campers to Kamp Kiwanis in upstate New York; adopted a needy family for the holidays; supported YAI, The Explorers Club, HERO, Open Book at Maria Ferrari Children's Center, and many other programs in Greenburgh; sponsored The Carnival held at Richard Presser Park/Webb Field on Labor Day Weekend; sponsored the Halloween Window Painting in Hartsdale; worked with CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) in Greenburgh; worked with Greenburgh Parks and Recreation Department; and attended Newcomers' night in Greenburgh.
