Hartsdale Teacher, Friend Co-Create Culinary Adventure TV Show

GREENBURGH, N.Y. - Matt Frohman and Rich Marshall, who formed a friendship nurtured by a love for the outdoors, are the co-creators of a new TV show about how to catch and cook great food called, "Rogues on the Road."

"My best friend Rich and I had an idea and originally wanted to host the show only in hopes that a network would pick it up," Frohman said. "After approximately nine years of submitting the idea, we received a call from Tracker Productions, which is located in Banff, Alberta, Canada. They loved the idea and said "lets make a pilot"."

Frohman, 41, is a Chappaqua native who teaches science at Solomon Schechter School of Westchester in Hartsdale, while Marshall works with disabled children in Yorktown and lives in upstate Patterson. The best friends hope to take viewers from  "adventure-to-appetite" and help change the way we look at food.

“Rogues on the Road” focuses on the dynamic pair traveling the world in search of the perfect way to catch, cook, and enjoy a gourmet meal produced by the finest chefs. Using only items fished, hunted, and foraged – plus local produce – they will teach the audience how and where to find ingredients and cook them into a delectable delight.

"Growing up in Chappaqua, we had acres of land and a lake behind our house," Frohman said.  "To me, that land had limitless exploring opportunities and seemed to go on forever. I spent many hours of my childhood exploring and discovering, it was magical."

The “Rogues” traveled to Banff National Park, a World Unesco Heritage Site, in early 2013 to shoot a pilot for the show. The adventure included fishing for trout, foraging for wild mushrooms and heading to the Banff Farmers Market for locally grown, sustainable ingredients.

Frohman said a crowdsourcing effort is currently underway to raise funding for the completion and marketing of the pilot.

Frohman and Marshall will also host a wine, beer and whiskey tasting fundraiser at O'Connor's Pub in White Plains on May 10 from 5-8 p.m.
