John Donahue, 99, Longtime Elmsford Resident

ELMSFORD, N.Y. – John Theal Donahue, 99, a longtime resident of Elmsford, died April 23. 

Donahue was born Jan. 1, 1913 in New York City, to the late James and Mary Agnes Holder Donahue. On June 10, 1944, he married Margaret Powers. 

In addition to his wife, Donahue is survived by a son, John (Donnalee) Donahue, Jr.; a daughter, Dale (Anthony) Bellantoni; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in Elmsford. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Elmsford. Burial will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
