At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28 and 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, women from Eastchester, Greenburgh, Scarsdale and White Plains dedicated to volunteer work are invited to attend the semi-annual recruiting events.
Women of all races, religions and nationalities who are devoted to helping others are invited to become members of the JLCW, which "is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women by providing leadership training and improving the community through numerous volunteer projects."
At the informational sessions, current members will inform prospects of the JLCW’s efforts to improve the lives of the less fortunate, as well as the activities, fundraisers and projects that help support these initiatives.
New members will be trained while completing a short-term community service project. The projects are designed to help the community, allow members to familiarize themselves with the league and begin networking with fellow volunteers.
"We are looking forward to welcoming a new group of women again this spring," JLCW President Alison Messerle said. "We are a diverse membership ranging from working professionals to stay-at-home moms, all looking for the unique combination of giving back to our local community and developing friendship along the way all offered through the JLCW."
Women interested in attending the informational coffees are asked to RSVP by Jan. 15 be email at joinjlcw@gmail.com or by phone to 914-723-6130.
