GREENBURGH, N.Y. — The Greenburgh Daily Voice accepts signed, original letters to the editor. Letters may be emailed to greenburgh@dailyvoice.com .

To the Editor,

At its October 25, 2012, meeting, the Executive Committee of the Greenburgh Democratic Town Committee considered the merits of the Referendum on the ballot on November 6, 2012, asking whether Greenburgh voters favor a proposed leasing arrangement for the former Frank's Nursery property at 715 Dobbs Ferry Road.

The proposed tenant, Game On 365, proposes to erect a bubble (the equivalent of about 8 stories tall) to cover the sports fields within. The Town obtained the property through a tax foreclosure, and rather than selling the property, the Town Board favors the lease, which is the subject of this "permissive" referendum.

After hearing from numerous speakers for and against the proposed lease, the Executive Committee resolved by motion to "urge residents to vote No on Referendum # 1."

Suzanne Berger is the chair of the Greenburgh Democratic Town Committee.
