Rita Mondelli, 84, Irvington Seniors Member

IRVINGTON, N.Y. – Rita E. Mondelli, a resident of Irvington for 60 years, died May 4. She was 84. 

An accountant, Mondelli worked for General Foods in White Plains for 30 years. 

The daughter of Salvatore and Helena Cantalupi, she was born in Brooklyn and raised in Carlisle, Pa. On Feb. 23, 1952, she married James W. Mondelli. She was an active member of the Irvington Seniors and family was very important to her. 

Mondelli is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Del Bene; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her husband, James, died in 2000, and a daughter, Margaret Figliolino, died in 2004. 

Visitation hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday at Immaculate Conception Church in Irvington.  

Memorial donations may be made to the Irvington Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
