Smith, Retired Elmsford Foreman, Dies at 87

ELMSFORD, N.Y. - George F. Smith, of Elmsford, died Nov. 16 at the age of 87.

Smith was born Jun. 24, 1924 to the late Martin and Anna Smith in Tarrytown. He served is US Army during World War II. Smith retired as a general foreman with the New York State Department of Transportation.

He is survived by his wife Carmella Smith of Jacksonville, Fla, his daughters Ann (Robert) Neff of North White Plains and Elizabeth Moccio of Jacksonville, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Smith was predeceased by his brother Martin Smith.

Visiting hours are from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Hawthorne Funeral Home in Hawthorne. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Greenburgh.
