What's Happening This Weekend In Greenburgh

GREENBURGH, N.Y. – From yarn to reptile exhibits, here’s what’s happening in and around Greenburgh this weekend.

Friday, July 6

Toddler Time At Library: 11:30 a.m.  Stories and fun for kids ages 30 months to 42 months with accompanying adult. Program open to Greenburgh Library card holders only. You will be asked to show your card. The Greenburgh Public Library is at 300 Tarrytown Road in Elmsford.

Dobbs Ferry Farmers Market: 10 a.m. The farmers market is open and under new management. Come check out the stands and shop Dobbs Ferry. The market is on Cedar Street in Dobbs Ferry.

Saturday, July 7

Hartsdale Farmers Market: 11:30 – 12:30:  The Hartsdale farmers market is open on and will have free outdoor concerts. This week check out Di Morgan on the guitar. The market is on E. Hartsdale Avenue in DeSanti Plaza.

Puppet Show: Butterfly: 11 a.m.  Come along with Jilly Puppets and experience the magical world of butterflies. We'll move, hum and dance along with fanciful puppets and lots of imaginative play! Recommended for ages 2-7. Jilly’s past shows have sold out—advance ticket purchase is strongly suggested. Admission is $5 for members, $8 for non-members and $25 for the family. The Greenburgh Nature Center is at 99 Dromore Road in Scarsdale.

Sunday, July 8

Barn to Yarn Wool Program: 11 a.m. It's all about twist! Join handspinner and textile artist, Anna Upston, (www.maupston.com) to learn about turning wool and other fibers into yarn. Upston will discuss fibers from plant, animal and recycled sources as well as demonstrate yarn creation on a spinning wheel and with a drop spindle. This is a kid friendly demonstration, with many fun fibers to explore and touch. A variety of beautiful handspun yarns and fiber-related gifts will be on display and available to purchase. Stick around and watch the sheep have a snack. Fun for the entire family! Admission is $5 for members, $8 for non-members and $25 for the family. The Greenburgh Nature Center is at 99 Dromore Road in Scarsdale.

New York Metro Reptile Show: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Thousands of pet reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates on display and for sale. Books, supplies, cages, and more! 200 + vendor tables. Buy breeder direct and save. No personal pets allowed. All children must be accompanied by an adult over 21.  Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 7-12 years old. Children under 7 get in free. Westchester County Center, 198 Central Ave. in White Plains.
