The punishment could have been worse for an attempted shoplifter in Ardsley.
On November 27 at 12:05 p.m., police received a 911 call from the CVS on Saw Mill River Road. A manager was complaining that a 28-year old female was attempting to leave the store with items in her purse.
Police arrived while the subject was still in the store and found that her purse contained $60 worth of unpaid merchandise.
The manager declined to press charges, but the woman was advised to never enter the store again, or else shed be arrested for trespassing.
On November 29, between 4:20 and 6:20 p.m., a home on Larchmont Street was burglarized.
The burglars broke into a basement door and removed several items of jewelry.
Police are investigating, having assigned the case to the detective division. Police said there have been some recent burglaries in the area and residents are advised to remain alert.
