GREENBURGH, NY - The Greenburgh Public Library is currently accepting book donations for their annual book sale in September.
The Friends of the Greenburgh Library are accepting most books in good condition, excluding textbooks. Hardcovers must have their dust jackets. The donation drop box is located inside the library, to the right of the entrance.
While the sale will take place from Sept. 23 - 27, the donated books are currently available in the library for patrons to purchase. Hardcovers are $1 while paperbacks are $0.50. Included in the book sale are discarded library books.
The profits go to the Friends of the Greenburgh Library, who promote the library as a community asset as well as help purchase major equipment and sponsor cultural programs.
"I think last year was the year that we started raising money and doing lot for the library," said Marge Phillips, a member of "Friends."
To purchase a book in the current sale, head to the far right corner of the library's first floor. If nobody is there, payment can take place at the checkout desk.
Friends of the Greenburgh Library is currently looking for people to become officers or board members, and for volunteers to man September's book sale. For more information, please email GPLFriends@gmail.com .
