Construction on Thruway Near Ardsley Rescheduled

ARDSLEY, N.Y. – The New York State Thruway Authority cancelled scheduled repairs to an overpass on I-87 at Exit 7 near Ardsley Monday. The repairs will now take place Monday, Aug. 22 at 9 a.m., according to a press release from the Thruway Authority.

R.W. Groneman, a public information officer for the Thruway Authority, said in an email that weather conditions in the area caused the cancellation.

The work will last until Tuesday at 6 a.m. It will resume Tuesday at 9 a.m. and continue until Wednesday at 6 a.m. The Thruway Authority originally scheduled the repairs for this Monday through Wednesday.

When the work begins, up to two lanes will be closed both northbound and southbound. A single lane will stay open in both directions.

The press release said drivers should expect delays in both directions near Exit 7 and plan to take alternate roads. The Thruway Authority will use signs on the highway and advisories on 530 AM radio to keep drivers informed about the closures.
