GREENBURGH, N.Y. Motorists and pedestrians may have to pay the price as the Crane Road Bridge replacement project gets under way.
Earlier this week, the Westchester County Department of Public Works announced a pair of road closures related to the construction project.
On Monday, the Bronx River Footbridge, the pedestrian walkway over the Bronx River, from Pipeline Road to the informal dirt path adjacent to the Metro-North Railroad tracks, was closed while repairs continued. And, beginning July 5, the entrance ramp from Pipeline Road/Aqueduct Drive to the southbound Bronx River Parkway will also be closed until further notice.
It has also been announced that the Bronx River Parkway exit to Crane Road will be closed for a year, beginning next spring. The $39.4 million project replacement project, started earlier this month, is expected to be completed in May 2015.
The Crane Road Bridge isnt the only bridge project that is troubling area residents.
Earlier this month, a handful of Edgemont residents complained about late night construction noise at the Popham Road Bridge, prompting Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner to suggest the village of Scarsdale relocate annoyed neighbors.
