SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – The chair of the Sleepy Hollow Planning Board is facing charges after he tried to arrange a rendezvous with an undercover detective posing as a 15-year-old girl, the Westchester County District Attorney's Office said Thursday.

George Tanner, 60, has been charged with attempted dissemination of indecent material to minors, a felony. He was arraigned Wednesday on $100,000 cash or $10,000 bond.

The complaint filed against Tanner states a member of the Westchester County District Attorney's High Technology Crime Bureau “assumed the undercover role of a 15-year-old female and engaged in a series of “chat” conversations with the defendant via the Internet” between Feb. 15 and March 7.

The detective made it clear “she” was 15, and the district attorney's office said Tanner then discussed specific sexual acts and then tried to arrange a sexual tryst with the girl.
