Did You Know About Boundary Lines, Greenburgh?

Did you know that in order to visit the Staples on Tarrytown Road or the TJ Maxx on Central Avenue, you have to park in a different town than the store?

Greenburgh's boundary lines, while not well known, separate the two stores from their parking lots. While TJ Maxx is in Hartsdale, its parking lot, directly in front of it, is in White Plains. Similarly, Staples is in White Plains, while its parking lot rests in Greenburgh territory.

The boundary lines were made when the Town of Greenburgh first was established. As the stores were built in more recent years, they were forced to share towns with their parking spaces since they were built on top of the boundary lines.
